BPA Tournament Rules

1. Current Team Roster completed with ALL parent signatures (available on website)
2. All teams MUST provide copies of Original Birth Certificates for EACH PLAYER
3. All teams MUST provide current proof of Team Insurance at Check-In


Age divisions:

Age cut-off is April 30th. To determine your team's tournament age:
1. Find your oldest player on the team
2. What will his age be before May 1, 2007 ?
   
3. This is the age division
you are eligible to play.

 Players may play up in age division, not down!


Players on Rosters/Roster Changes:

No player may appear on more than one BPA Baseball Roster  at any time.

Players must be released by their team manager to participate as a player with another BPA Baseball registered team. Released players may NOT return to any team from which they were dropped during the remainder of the current season.

Teams found with illegal and/or ineligible players will be suspended for the remainder of the season.


Add-Ons and Drop Forms:

A player may participate with another registered  BPA Baseball team if the new team manager obtains a signed Drop Form from the previous team manager.

Bats:

Age Divisions 15U and older must use high school approved equipment.

Steel Cleats:

13U and up may use steel cleats.

Pitching rules:

9U through 10u  6 innings in one day. No more then  8 innings in two consecutive days.

 11U through 12u  6 innings in one day. No more then  10 innings in two consecutive days.

13U Through 15U  8 innings in one day.  No more then 12 innings in two consecutive days.

One pitch will count as one inning

Each Tournament will have pitching tracking sheet for both coaches to track the pitching for each game. The

pitching sheets must be signed by both coaches from each team.

Pitching Violation: Forfeit of game.

Batting and Re-enter:

Teams elect to bat 9 players, or bat 10 as EH or bat entire roster! Starters may re-enter only one time in original batting order.

Time Limits:

9U-12U will play 6 innings with no new inning after 1 hour and 30 minutes.

13U-14U will play 7 innings with no new inning after 1hour  and 45 minutes.

15U-18U will play 7 innings with no new inning after 2 hours.

No Time limits in the Championship Games

Extra inning in Pool Play and Playoffs

The tournament will use the International Tied Breaking Rules.  Start the next inning with  the batter who made the last out on 2nd base. Each team will get a bat until we have a winner. The home team always gets their last bat.

Championship games will not use the International rule. The game   will be played until we have a winner.

Run Rule:

12 runs after 3 innings, 10 runs after 4 innings, and 8 runs after 5 innings. Home team always will get last bat if they are behind in the ball game

Home Team Determined by:

Pool Play coin flip.

Play Off higher seed.

Championship game higher seed.

Dugout. First come, first served.

Home Team has official book and will maintain tournament official book.

All changes must go through home plate umpire.

Protest:

Protest will be ruled on immediately by tournament director and chief umpire. Rules can be protested, not judgement calls. $75 fee is required for protest! Will be returned if call is changed.

Intentionally walk a batter:

Coach must tell home plate umpire and point to first. No pitch has to be thrown.

Courtesy Runner:

For pitcher and catcher. First eligible player not in game, then last out. Same runner can not run for pitcher or catcher in same inning.

Ejection:

Coaches or Parents, Spectators ejected from a ball game will be suspended for 1 game. Suspended for next game played and cannot be within 300-feet of your game. Can be asked to leave the park.

Parents causing problems can forfeit your game.

Game Baseballs:

Each team will provide 2 game baseballs per game.

Baseballs will be returned after game. Please have your player's shag baseballs that go out of play!

Backup baseballs must be provided by teams playing.

Playoff seeding in the following order: Head-to-head, Runs Allowed, Runs Scored, Coin Flip. If three or more teams are tied after pool play, then the first tie breaker will be runs allowed.

Check-in one hour before first game. Be ready to play 30 minutes before any of your games.
